We've got the tips to keep your tree lasting as long as possible! It's important, firstly, to purchase a pre-cut tree that is as fresh as possible. You can usually tell by looking at it and running your fingers over the branches- the fresher the tree, the less needles will fall. 🎄

🎄Keep your tree away from air vents blowing directly on it (it will dry it out a lot faster)

🎄Check the water every day; the freshest trees take in the most water and could need water every day or every couple of days. If the base of the trunk dries out, it seals with sap and doesn't absorb water

🎄If you aren't bringing into your home right away, trim the trunk slightly before bringing in so it is a fresh cut/ soaks up more water

🎄Do not place your fresh tree directly beside a fireplace or heat source, as the heat can dry out the tree faster

🎄As the season continues, if the tree begins to look dry, trim those branches (often the lower branches will look drier first)

BONUS TIP!✨️🎄Choose LED bulbs for your christmas tree lights over incandescent, as LED helps preserve your tree longer than incandescent (which gets hot to the touch and can dry out your tree)

❣️Poinsettias are tropical flowers & need to stay indoors. They need warmth to stay happy & healthy.
❣️Avoid placing your Poinsettias near cold drafts indoors (such as near an exterior door that is frequently opened). Also avoid the air vent blowing directly on them.
❣️Poinsettias don't like their roots to be consistently wet. Water them well & then wait several days before watering again. If the plant feels heavy when you pick it up, it probably doesn't need watering quite yet.

Spring bulbs are now 25% off!!🎉🌸 Fall is the ideal time to plant them.

Tips to plant bulbs:

✨️🌷Plant in an area where, this past spring, you needed a little something extra. Most bulbs do best in mostly to full-sun locations.

✨️🌷Try grouping at least 6 to 9 larger bulbs (tulips and daffodils), & 15-20 small bulbs (crocus and squills together) for greater impact.

✨️🌷The planting depth of a bulb generally depends on the size of the bulb. A good rule of thumb is that the depth you plant should be 3x the diameter of the bulb.

✨️🌷If you're just planting a few bulbs, you may want to just dig individual holes for each one. If you're planting a large bed full of bulbs, you'll find it easier to dig up the entire area.

✨️🌷After planting your bulbs, add an 8-8-8 fertilizer & replace the soil you've dug up. Water thoroughly & add mulch on top to insulate your bulbs in preparation for winter.

✨️🌷Keep a list of the bulbs you're planting, their height, color, location & where you bought them. This will come in handy next year when you really love a certain flower but cannot remember what it was or where it came from. 💛

Spring bulbs are now 25% off! Now is the perfect time to plant them. They make excellent Christmas presents, as well, and can be planted up until approximately New Year's.

PSA 📣 Fall is our driest season in Middle Tn, & we've had a drought for months!! It's easy to think gardening is done in fall, but you must continue to water through this drought.

💦Water established trees & shrubs during this drought in addition to newly planted plants (planted within the last year)

💦Deeply water every 3-4 days this fall when we aren't experiencing adequate rainfall

💦Place a hose at the base of the tree or shrub & water at a slow stream of water for approximately 20-30 minutes for each tree or shrub

💦Morning is the best time to water, followed by evening

💦Alternatively, you can purchase tree gators at the nursery that will go around the base of the tree & slowly release water for several days. This is optimal if you have trees you can't reach with a hose or if you don't have time to water
